We need a strategy for rapid infrastructure development for electric mobility in India

CharIN India Managing Director Sivam Sabesan participated at a seminar on “Options for Propulsion Technologies for On-Road-Mobility” on Jan. 09th, 2018 in New Delhi. The seminar was organized commonly by the German VDA, as well as the Indian organizations SIAM and ACMA.



The seminar covered a lot of automotive topics of current relevance, including emission compliance for BS 6 regulations and electric mobility. On the electric mobility side, there was a session on “Development in xEVs: Possible future options” chaired by Mr. Anil Shrivastava, transport advisor of NITY Aayog. Dr. Tapan Sahoo, Chairman of SIAM Group on E-Mobility and Senior Vice President at Maruti Suzuki gave a presentation on the Indian xEV scenario, followed by Sivam Sabesan’s presentation about the CharIN e.V. and CCS with the title “XEV’s and Charging Infrastructure for EVs”. The key message of Mr. Sabesan’s presentation was that India needs a strategy for rapid infrastructure development for electric mobility.


The seminar was helpful from a networking perspective since a lot of Indian Industry people were at the seminar. Moreover, a good statement from CharIN perspective was placed among influential representatives.
