ROHM becomes a member of CharIN to contribute to high power charging system with SiC technology

Willich-Münchheide/Germany, – Feb. 22, 2017 - ROHM becomes a regular member of the CharIN (Charging Interface Initiative) , an association to develop and establish the Combined Charging System (CCS) as the standard for charging battery-powered electric vehicles of all kinds.

ROHM assures the help to shape up and evolve the e-mobility market by providing Analog-Power solutions of Power management ICs, resistors, and discrete devices especially cutting-edge SiC (Silicon Carbide) Technologies which will eventually contribute to the significant size and weight reduction of the system together with the improvement on total cost ownership.

President of ROHM Semiconductor GmbH Mr. Christian André commented: ‘We are delighted to be a member of expertise in the efforts of creating global standard of automotive charging system. As a pioneer in Silicon Carbide Technologies, ROHM has a clear vision to contribute to the evolution of e-mobility. In this context, CharIN is a perfect organization to share our extended experiences in the field to accelerate the expansion of e-mobility by providing cutting-edge technologies to on/off board chargers for rapid charging, high power DC/DC converters and traction inverters.’
